According to the volume of retained water, Liptovska Mara is the largest dam in Slovakia.
There are excellent conditions for relaxation, family holidays, as well as activity holidays. On the northern bank of Liptovska Mara, there is the most significant recreation centre, Liptovsky Trnovec, with excellent opportunities for camping as well as accommodation in wooden cottages.
Swimming is permitted from the beach area.
The surface of Liptovska Mara can be crossed via a boat trip, where the beauty of the outstanding scenery of the surroundings of Liptovska Mara can be seen.
