National park Mala Fatra - Slovakia

Short info
The mountain range rises from the Zilinska and Turcianska valley and forms a curvy bend which stretches from Fackovske saddle to Zazriva. The fairly small area has a concentration of various natural sites such as forestry combs, rocky slopes, canyons, gorges and deep, quiet valleys.
The mountain core is formed of granite. The southern slopes are bare, northern and eastern slopes are of flint, sandstone, shale, marl, limestone and dolomites. The unique rock formations occur in limestone and dolomite, mainly valleys and gorges next to the entrance to Vratna Valle, Sokolia, Bobot, Horne, Dolne and Nove Holes in the Rozsutec massif.
The most attractive are
Krystál cave under Maly Rozsutec with calcite ornaments,
Sutovsky waterfall and
7 km long, curvy canyon section of the River Vah between Dubna rock and Strecno. As much as a third of the area of Mala Fatra is covered in forest of beech and small pine bushes, connected to bare alpine peaks.
The flora is mainly interesting on the dolimites and limestone. The fauna is represented by typical species of mountain and high-mountain areas (bear, lynx, wild cat, wolf, eagle).
