Tihanyi mansion - Slovakia

Tihanyi Manor - named after its owners, was originally a single storey building, built in the first half of the 17th Century in a Renaissance style.
In 1972 it was declared a cultural site and after complex reconstruction, handed over to the Central Slovakia Museum in Banska Bystrica.
Natural Sciences Exhibition
"The nature of Central Slovakia", gives the full picture of the natural conditions of Central Slovakia via
2400 exhibits. A visit to the exhibition provides an opportunity to become familiarised with the geological structure, flora and fauna of the Central Slovakia region, expands the knowledge of ecology and protection of nature. It facilitates learning and knowledge of common and less common types of rocks, minerals, plants and wildlife.
The exhibition is followed by an audio-visual area where there is a presentation of natural science programmes.
On the ground floor, in two separate rooms, occasional exhibitions and 'collections of the month' regularly take place.
