The spa was established in Budapest with arrival of Turks, who used the potential of thermal springs and started to gradually build a spa town. Budapest has thirty thermal springs, what is probably the biggest number in the world. There are around 130 springs in Hungary. Springs have unbelievable healing effects and people from around the world come here not only in search of relax, but primarily in search of treatment. That is also the reason why Budapest is nicknamed the Mecca of Rheumatics.
People have been coming to this area for treatment already two thousands years ago, because springs had healing effects on various diseases. Healers of the time have discovered healthy effects of the water and send their patients from various corners of the country to the are of current Budapest springs.
Budapest has currently approximately fifteen treatment hotel complexes, which will offer a maximum comfort, first-rate care, diversity of services, treatment procedures, as well as leisure time activities. Almost every hotel has an indoor and outdoor pool with healing thermal water.
