Terchová is a village in the north of Slovakia in Žilina district. It is a typical village of isolated settlements with large number of such settlements. It is a well-known tourist centre of the national park Malá Fatra thanks to its geographical location and it is also a cultural area of the Žilina district with regular events. The village is known especially for its cultural traditions and as a centre of tourism. There is a festival called Jánošík Days organized regularly since the sixties.
