Cardiovascular rehabilitation is a process which allows those with cardiological diseases to regain and maintain their optimum physiological, psychological, social, working and emotional states. It is controlled training on a stationary bicycle for patients with cardiovascular disease (especially patients after an uncomplicated heart attack and revascularisation surgery) under the supervision of a nurse who will check pulse frequency and blood pressure at the beginning and end of the training session. A defibrillator, medicines and aids for resuscitation are to hand in case this rehabilitation is not well received by the patient. Cardiovascular rehabilitation must be prescribed by a doctor.
