Salt cave
Speleotherapy is treatment in a natural, underground salt mine. Due to its low access,
halotherapy was developed (halo - salt). It is method of natural therapy which recreates the atmosphere of a salt mine.
Therefore, it is a dry, salty aerosol inhalation, inhalation of a dry aerosol of salt. It is carried out in a special room where the walls and floor are made of salt. This prevents the penetration of humidity from outside and maintains the properties of the atmosphere together with a halogenator which is situated next to the treatment room. Air humidity in the room ranges between 40 to 60%, the room temperature is circa 18 - 24°C.
Important factors are the allergen free and hypobacterial environment.
Due to the size and presence of negatively charged particles, a dry aerosol is much more effective than a wet aerosol.
Effects of halotherapy:
- supports the activity of the epithelial tissue in the respiratory system, dilutes phlegm and assists expectorance
- increases blood circulation in the skin
- has a bacteriostatic to anti-bacterial effect and positively affects the immunity of the patient
- iodine and other elements have a healing effect on the respiratory system, increases the blood circulation in the organs including the heart and brain, flushes out unwanted products of the inflammation, relieves pain, supports the metabolism and improves fat burning
Generally, the duration of a stay in a salt chamber is 45 min. Clients rest on comforable beds. The procedure is suitable for all age groups, pregnant women and children over 3 years.
