 Sun-Lamp (solux)

This procedure uses ultraviolet radiation and its heat for increasing non-specific striking power of the body.
The irradiation is applied 2 - 3x a week, each lasting 0.5 - 3 minutes depending on the skin reaction. Eyes have to be protected by wearing special glasses.
By using filters of different colours, it is possible to achieve different curative effects - the most often used filters are red (in chronic diseases of airways, such as asthma, in allergic problems, bronchitis etc) or blue.
The skin slightly reddens in 4 - 6 hours, maximum after 10 - 12 hours.
Indication: chronic and repeated inflammations, reconvalescency, some skin diseases, rachitis, osteoporosis, arthritis, neuralgy, sinusitis, asthma, bronchitis, seasonal or all-year allergies, states after tooth extraction and other diagnoses
Contraindication: acute diseases, photodermatosis, conditions after radiotherapy, tumors, taking medicines increasing sensitiveness to ultraviolet radiation, bleeding states, hyperthyreosis (increased thyroid function), skin atrophy, serious atherosclerosis, herpes zoster (commonly known as shingles)
This procedure must be prescribed by a doctor.
