The Act No. 2011/XLI for the protection of non-smokers came into force on 1 January 2012, which prohibits smoking in public areas. That applies also to premises of hotels, with the exception of smoking rooms. With regard to the fact that the number of smoking rooms is limited, please state such request in the booking. Compliance with the law is inspected by respective authorities and penalty is paid for its violation. The minimum penalty rate for an individual is 100.000 HUF.
