Galvanotherapy

Galvanotherapy , also known as hydrogalvanic bath , is a modern physiotherapy procedure that uses a combination of healing water and gentle direct current. This unique procedure is an effective method for promoting blood circulation , muscle relaxation , and pain relief .

During the procedure, the upper or lower limbs, or the entire body, are immersed in a bathtub or special containers of water, into which electrodes are inserted. A low voltage current passes through the water and gently stimulates the tissues. The patient feels only a pleasant warmth or a slight tingling, which gradually relieves muscle tension and improves blood flow.

The main effects of galvanotherapy:
- Improving blood circulation in muscles and joints
- Relaxing stiff muscles and relieving cramps
- Alleviation of chronic pain
- Support for nerve and muscle regeneration
- Anti-inflammatory effect

Indications:
Galvanotherapy is recommended for musculoskeletal diseases ( arthrosis , arthritis , rheumatism ), neurological problems (polyneuropathy, after nerve injuries), vascular diseases of the extremities, or chronic spinal pain.

Contraindications:
The procedure is not performed in patients with pacemakers, in acute inflammations, open wounds, infections, during pregnancy, and in feverish conditions.

Galvanotherapy is safe, non-invasive and has no side effects when used as recommended by experts. Regular application brings long-term relief and significantly improves the quality of life of patients.

In many spas in Slovakia and abroad, hydrogalvanic baths are among the popular treatments, often combined with massages, mineral baths or physiotherapy. If you are looking for an effective way to relieve pain and improve mobility, galvanotherapy may be the right choice.
